The Women’s league started today at Tryst Sports Centre. The first match was between newcomers to the league Dundee University and Glasgow. It was a close affair throughout the match with the teams tied 11 each at half-time. Dundee ran out 21-19 winners. The top scorer for Dundee University was Louise Cox-Thomsen with 10 goals and Maria Lobato was the top scorer for Glasgow with 7. The second match was between Tryst and Edinburgh. The Tryst led 16-15 at half-time and won the match 34-31. The top scorer for Tryst was former GB Olympic captain Lynn McCafferty with 10 goals and for Edinburgh Kaoline Friis with 11. The Tryst top the league after the first round on goal difference.
